    Hello.

On my old 6230 I used contact groups to group work-, family- and
friends- related contacts. On the 6230i I found that one group could
only hold 50 contacts, while on my old 6230 I found no limit (at least
300+ for work). I get the message "Only 50 members allowed in a group".

Has anybody else gotten around this, or do I have to create 7 "work"
groups. The point being, of course, to be able to distinguish contacts,
and to controll who can call.

I'm sad to say that this is not true. *#0000# shows "Nokia 6230i V 03.40
    23-05-05 RM-72 GSM P 1.1 (c) NMP.", so I _have_ 3.4.

Or are the updates language/region specific? I'm based in Norway.

You should be able to get a software upgrade from your dealer, or your
    dealers service center.

The Nokia home page also should have a list over partners in your area.
