Nokia PC Suite is the biggest piece of ..... I ever used to sync
- Sometimes it syncs correctly, sometimes it doesn't & sometimes partially (Mainly for contacts & calendar)
some examples:
1 - I can only start a sync from my mobile if the Nokia PC Sync window is opened.
2 - I just synced correctly 5 minutes ago (via Cable) and when I tried to resync (to be sure) I got an error telling me
that the iR device does not understand the data sent??? (why an iR message when I try to sync via USB cable?) after
retrying 4 times (each time disconnecting & reconntecting the cable and waited until I saw an estabblished connection
with my pc via USB) I succeeded syncing (but my calendar was only done partially)
I even tried to sync without the usb cable to verify the iR error to check if it was really trieing to sync via iR and
guess what!!! I received another error telling me the USB cable was not connected???
I tried the pestware on 5 different machines (2 installed from scratch) with 5 different mobiles (3 x Nokia 9300, 1x
Nokia 6630, 1x Nokia 6680).
I tried Version 6.6 R16 & R18.
It's tottaly unreliable, I've spoken to 3 colleagues about these topics and they all notice the same problems.
I have to configure 40 nokia mobile phones but how can I manage that with unreliable software.
The only solution I see right now is to convince my boss to switch to another brand mobiles.
Does anyone else have the same problems?
How can I

just fyi i had similar complaints about the suite with my 6620 - i tried
bluetooth and usb
and had nothing but problems. then i broke my 6620, sent it back to nokia,
they sent
me a replacement phone back and i've had zero problems to date. i'm still
expecting
the suite to barf on me every time i try something but it appears the
problem was
actually the phone.
