I'm having a lot of probs with 3230, especially crashes, once with the
alarm going off! It has V3.0505.2 firmware, dated 19th Feb 05.
I thought there was V4 firmware, but local Nokia service centre seem
    unsure.
Does anyone know if there's a later version than V3 for the UK?

I can provide an upgrade to 4.0526.2 firmware for 3230, unbranded. Total
cost is £15 (payment by paypal), includes return delivery.

I asked my local centre to flash mine to the latest firmware and clean the
dust under the screen about a month ago.

The software is still V3.0505.2, and the dust is back already

Not surprising about the same version of firmware in your phone, I took
mine in three times in one week before they finally decided to actually
    do something.

The dust however you cannot blame them for, it is obviously the
    environment you are in.

No, I'm in a perfectly normal environment, and have never had this problem
with any other phone I've had. Its a design flaw affecting many people.
    Look at http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum...splay.php?f=69 to read
    of others affected.

    Yeah, that'll work!

Do you really think that restoring factory settings will clear dust from
behind the screen or were you just being sarcastic?
