N70 - First name/last name contact order.

Hi all

Is there a way of making my phone show the first name then the last name?

When I go through contacts it is it that order - done by...

contacts > options > settings > name display 'first name first'

This works.

However, when I receive SMS the name shows in the last name then first name
order.

All my message folders show in the wrong order.

Is this a common problem or can it be changed?

It appears to be standard for the Nokia Series 60 phones. I have Nokia
6680 and it behaves the same, I'm not really fussed over it.

For example when entering a contacts name into an SMS I only need to
enter the first 2 or three letters of either the first or last name and
it will bring up their name (along with any others that match) for me to
choose from.

Same on my 6680. I used the free nameswap .sis to switch all my contacts
names over. So Messages show the names the right way and Contacts is set
to last name first. Depends on how much integration you want with outlook
as this method will muck the contacts up.

I simply entered all my contacts in the wrong way and have had no
problem with mails and texts and of course my contacts list is alpha
sorted on the real first name, hope this helps as it works for me.
