I have the 6230i right now.
It can not be used in Outlook synchronisation, as all the details (text) in
meetings will not be transferred, and you cannot create these on the phone
either !
Just the headlines and meeting place/time is sync'ed on this one.
I also need the Flight-Mode on work, so I am looking at the 6233 now - which
seems perfect.
I dont want a big business application phone - just one that is small, but
does the job.
Can the 6233 cover the meeting details ?
All other newer business phones can, and also Sony E. new simple models -
but what about the Nokia 6233 ?
Could anyone check this please ?
The easiest way, if not using Outlook - is to see if you can create a
meeting with a headline text, AND another text besides/underneath the
headline.
If possible - I am sure it has 100% Outlook sync., and not only this half
"wannabe" sync as many other popular phones has.
The only reason for having a PDA, for me and many others I think, is because
of this lack of full sync in most mobile phones - so very important for me.
Dont want to carry "two gadgets" when not necessary...
And dont want to spend a "million" on a big business phone I dont need
either (fun, but I really dont need it), or might lose one day on the beach
f.ex.
Dont need the camera either - but okay, it is usually less expensive these
days because of the wide demand for this, so okay.
Thanks for any help, or further information about how good 6233 is at
Outlook synchronisation !
Kindly, Peter Frank
PS: is the bottom connector for headsets and earphones, and charger, the
same ?

I bought a 6233 recently to replace my venerable 6230. I'm afraid the
Outlook sync is not 100% for either phone - the notes cannot be
replicated on the phone. I use the Calendar function all the time - but
then I'm used to not being able to look at the notes....
I don't use the Flight mode - so cannot comment.
Camera is IMHO very good for a phone - though the colours can wash out.
The Pop Port connector at the bottom is the same as on the 6230(i) but
the power lead is a new generation, smaller one. You can buy an adaptor
which converts all your existing chargers (home, car, etc) to the
6233's socket.
Other thoughts: I like the new phone, though it is a tad larger and
quite a lot heavier than the old one. The main downside is that the
text is small and - at my age- I need my glasses rather too often when
using the phone.
I hope that helps
Regards
David
