    Hello

I'm trying to access Google maps on a Nokia 6230i in Australia using
Vodafone Aus, however everytime I open it it tells me to subscribe to GPRS
first however web browsing through this phone over GPRS works fine. Any
    ideas???

    Thank-you kindly!

Web browsing as in Vodafone Live! ?

I figured that, except every time I try launch a java application requring
net access it asks me to subscribe to GPRS first. I can search the net
using GPRS as per normal eg www.google.com its just when trying to use an
application that requires net access that it doesn't work.

This is a two sided problem: On your 6230i you need to set the GPRS modem
settings to use "internet" as the access point and you need to get
Vodafone to add the APN (Access Point Name) "internet" to your account.
The built in browser uses the "Wap" APN even over GPRS. Java apps are
using the phone as a modem for internet access. Try to get customer
support to transfer you to data support if you don't get the help you need
at first getting the APN added. Good luck.
