I just realized, Mot no longer makes durable/quality phones. I bought
a v3x cause I like that plummy surface, but the keypad after
just a month already gave in, and totally break down from there.
It seems, this is the current trend, the same for Nokia. Sony-Ericsson
units though feels very solid in my hands but never owned one. Some
models of the Korean brands really feel very well built, and some
feels disposable units. Japan models are very well built and very durable
and will be perfect given Nokia software.
There's so much difference between my old startac and 5110, I just wish
they ALL can again build phones for function rather than fashion. I know
Mot i580 are rugged phones but they're IDEN, I wish they could
build the same for their GSM units.
Not all people prefer cameras and lot's of graphics anyway, I for one
would love to have a text, call, phonebook, alarm, calendar features only.
Now I'm back to my old, sturdy sharp gx10....

Some brands are a bit better than others, but in a court in Norway people from
the major cellphone companies did confess that cellular phones aren't made to
last more than a few years.
The phone you buy today won't hold as long as those which was made in the
90's, much of the phones are just thin plastics. If you want something that
holds a little bit longer you have to keep your eyes open fro those made for
harsh environment and/or sports activities.

I agree to some degree, I hardly use the ****ty built in camera in my phone, I
have a digital camera which produce better images even with max digital zoom
than the built in does without zooming. The only new feature that I use is the
MP3 player, this way I can play music even if my mp3-players battery run out
(have an rebranded I-bead player with built in battery).
It's a bit difficult to type on a phone IMHO, so the calendar is quite
useless, but if you have a hour of time and can have the phone connected to a
charger, then of course you can type a bit...

Did you return the v3x for warranty replacement?
