    Hi!

I have decided to abandon Outlook and use Thunderbird which is no
problem as i never sync email with my Nokia 6280 but i do sync the
    calendar and contacts!

I would like to use a different PIM but have no idea what what can
work with Nokia PC Suite, does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Engelkott

Thanks but that place is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

I have tried various places for information before and i was asking
for opinion rather than other places to look.

Odd, I don't see any request for opinion in your original post but a
clear plea for suggestions, which Stan very kindly provided.

A little more appreciation that someone took the time to read and
respond to your post would not go amiss :-)

From my own search on this subject (trying to synch a 6680 with
Thunderbird) I'm of the opinion that it can't readily be done and
    suggest you think again.

Oxygen Phone Manager II for Symbian OS phones has in-built 'PIM-like' interface with two views (list and planner), so many of our customers don't use any PIM at all.

You can have a look at this at

So only works to back the info up and no good at synching for people
who do want to use a PC based PIM?

Why not? We support Outlook and Lotus Notes import and export (in Business version) and export to Microsoft Office, PDF, XML and plain-text formats. So you can save your data both in our program and/or PIM, but if you don't wan't to use PIM, you can work with calendar data in our own interface.

*Oxygen Phone Manager II for 'common' phones (not smartphones) ( http://www.opm-2.com/ ):*

Events list in our program's calendar (there are 'Import' and 'Export' buttons on its toolbar):

Maybe i was a little hasty? I usually thank the person before pouring
scourn on a reply i deem unhelpful.

I thank the poster for his suggestion!

As you mentioned, you took the time to read my post but you seem to
have missed the point of it by mentioning Thunderbird, which i said i
did not want to sync with and also can you really expect someone to
search for all models of phone until he/she hits the post?

I thought that was the point of newsgroups or is it to snipe from a
    superior standpoint?

That aside, you may indeed be correct in that i have to stay with
Outlook....... so much for freedom of choice!

    Thanks (!!!)

Our customers may not agree with you.

Anyhow, freedom of choice is a great thing: when somebody chooses your product it means, that you (i.e., we) are the best.
