Hi
I wish to copy text messages (SMS) from my N70 to the PC. I have tried
using the PC suite but could not copy them. I have copied the messages
from the Phone Memory to the Memory Card. Could anyone please guide me,
as I have some messages that I do not want to lose.
Thanks!

When you say you couldn't copy them with PC Suite, why exactly was
that? Did you highlight the message(s) to be copied in PC Suite, then
click "Copy To Folder..." from the Edit menu?

Re: Copy sms from N70 to PC
Thanks for your response Chris.
Here's what's happening. When I connect the phone to the PC using the
cable and go to the Messages folder, I get a message 'Do you want to
install PC Suite Support into your mobile? When I click Ok, I get a
message on my mobile 'Certificate may not be yet valid, is expired or
phone date setting is incorrect.' 'The installation to mobile phone
failed.' The Installs folder shows that PC Suite Support is installed.
The messages subfolders are empty and I dont know what is to be done to
resolve this. Could you please guide me?

It sounds like your problem is that PC Suite isn't able to install
something it needs on your phone. I don't have a N70, but on my N95
there's an option to allow the phone to ignore those certificate
errors when installing applications.
On my phone its: Settings | Applications | App. Manager.
I set "Software Installation" to "All", and "Online certificate check"
to "Off"
If you have similar options on your N70 maybe you could change those
and try again to install PC Suite.

Re: Copy sms from N70 to PC
I followed your instructions and was able to install PC Suite on my
mobile.
But I suppose there's no way you can copy sms from N70 to the PC.
There's no option to copy. You can send sms from your PC, thats all.
Thanks for your help Chris. I guess I will look for some other way out.

Did you try to copy it as I originally suggested, by highlighting the
message(s) to be copied in PC Suite and then clicking "Copy To
Folder..." from the Edit menu?

Re: Copy sms from N70 to PC
The Messages folder is empty. There are sub folders; Inbox, Drafts and
Sent but all these folders are empty. I can only send messages. The Copy
option in the Edit menu is greyed out. Either I am missing out something
or there's no functionality to copy messages from N70 to the PC using
NokiaPC Suite.

Then I'm out of ideas. If there are incoming messages in your phone,
then clicking on the Inbox folder should display those messages on the
computer.

Re: Copy sms from N70 to PC
I googled the issue and came across a forum where it is mentioned that
with N70, there's no way you can save received messages to your PC. You
can only take a backup of the phone to save all the content. So that's
it I suppose.
Anyway, I was writing to thank you for all the suggestions and tips.
