    Hey guys,

I'm planning to get a IR adapter for my 5210. Am I better off using a USB
version or serial port version of the IRDA adapter?

I'm using WinXP Pro, a VIA Apollo KT133 motherboard on my PC.

I plan to use Logomanager, OPM2 with my phone thru IR and was wondering
    which version to buy.....

USB. Serial ports take lots more processor time and slow your system down.
The transfer rates are also much slower.

I would say, go with the USB.

I just bought this inexpensive adapter a couple of weeks ago:
    http://store.yahoo.com/compusb/irconcabrsir.html

I use it with my Nokia 6310i, and it works well, both with the Nokia PC
Suite and for CSD dial-up. If you do get this one, make sure you use the
latest driver, version 1.26.0.0. Windows XP will recognize the device and
load a earlier driver, which you will then need to update. You can download
    it here:
    http://www.sigmatel.com/infrared/wireless_infrared.htm

After you load the new driver, you will need to change all the driver
properties (under the Advanced tab) to their default values, or it won't
    work.
