ask your provider about this, they probably have a preset pin for your
    phone.

    new phone probs

    Hello group.
Can anyone explain what is going on here please.
Last week i had my phone arf inched by a little oik.
Phoned my service people straight away so they could block the phone.
Just bought a new phone today and kept the same number i had on my previouse
    phone.
They said it would activate on monday or tuesday.
Trying to play with my new one at the moment and it keeps asking for a pin
number which i dont seem to have.I put in the numbers 12345 as it says in
the book and it locked completely.
Put in the puk code and it requests a new pin.
It just wont accept any new pin i put in.
I dont want to keep doing this in case i have to get a new sim after ten
    attempts.
Should everything be ok when my phone is activated next week?.
Or do i definately have to find the correct pin number?.
I thought i could set the phone up without being actually connected.
    Anyone?.
    Thanx in advance.

12345 is the default SECURITY CODE, not the pin No. The two are completely
different things. The Pin No is for the SIM card; the security code is for
    the phone.

Where did you obtain the puk code from?

New sims generally come with a default number, such as 1111, or 0000. You
can change it to what you like, but you must have the correct pin numb to be
    able to do it.

    Mike.
