Does anybody know where there is a list that associates cell tower
number with provider and possibly location and/or frequency? In searching,
it seems that they consider this secret info. You would think that the FCC
would publish this just like they publish other radio frequency license
site info. What gives?
I am just curious as to which towers I am using.

Re: Cell tower list?
Not sure which phone you have, but if you have a Series 60 phone, you
could download this program called miniGPS that will give you the Cell
ID and Area ID of the tower you're picking up service from....not sure
if this is what you're looking for though...but it should stand to
reason that you could only pick up on your provider's towers, so you
should be able to get this info from your phone...it even tells you how
strong the signal is...pretty nifty prog...
you could find it at http://groups.yahoo.com/groups/3650_apps/files
enjoy!

Re: Cell tower list?
Thanks for the response. I can see the CID and AID in service mode.
What I want is a table telling me where these towers are. It is also
possible that some towers might not be my providers due to roaming
agreements.
I think the only way to get what I want is to do it my self by driving
to the towers and writing down the info. A yagi or other directional
antenna would help in finding them.
