Re: nokia phones
when you are in a plan, the phone is locked and cannot be used in other
networks. here in our place, there are persons who know how to unlock
these phones in order to use to other networks.

Yes, as long as they use the same technology (cingular uses both GSM
and TDMA) and as long as the phone is unlocked.

Re: nokia phones
It depends on the company. ATTWS doesnt have it set up in the stores
where you can take another phone and put it on a different network.
ATTWS isnt going to unlock their GSM phones either at this time. Tmobile
will give an unlock code, but you have to be a current customer for
atleast 6 months, and have a current bill. they are still pretty
hesetant to give it up, its like a 2 week process.
but usually companies wont let it happen.

Any phone from any manufacturer can be used on any network provided
that a) the network uses the same network technology and b) the phone
is unlocked to use on other networks.
