hi there,
is there any way of unlocking phones that have been reported stolen?
I'm not a thief, just someone that was unlucky. My 8310 was swapped for a
stolen one because someone changed the cover. Any help would be
appreciated.
My phone is an 8310
TIA

It is blocked by the networks, not by something
in the phone itself. There is no legal way that you
can sort it out yourself.

Except that the whole of western Europe share IMEIs of stolen phones.

Only if it's insured...
God be with the days when we could sell a dicky phone to lad after
claiming for it on insurance, as long as they were on a different
network.

Re: unlocking stolen nokia
My advice, sell it on Ebay, it will fetch quite a bit as people abroad
(i.e. outside Europe) can use them. Some unscrupulous seller sold me an
8310 I was told did not make calls, so I thought, simple fix but it
turned out it was blocked for one reason or another. Anyway I listed it
and I sold it for more than I paid for it to some guy in Australia,
where obviously its no longer blocked. Then get yourself a new (as in
another one) 8310 or use it as an excuse to get yourself one of the
newer ones like a 7210 or something. But like it's been said above
there is no way of unblocking it now; changing the IMEI is dangerous
and highly illegal - if it's even possible. No amount of unlocking
cables or anything else will fix it, but that is not to say that's it's
worth nothing (I reckon you've got a good chance to make about £60+
from it, just list it internationally as a 'faulty phone' and people
will come flocking to it!).

How does correcting an inaccurate statement qualify for that?

if you can switch on your phone then you can get the security password
by using the logo manager... if not then keep entering until they ask
for puk pin... then call your service provider to get them...

Re: unlocking stolen nokia
That security code has little (in fact nothing) to do with the phone
being stolen or blocked. All that is, is a method of stopping access to
the phone regardless of what sim card is installed.
This phone appears to be blocked to networks by IMEI in which case
there is nothing you can do about it.
