My partner has had her 8210 knocked into a sink full of water, doh. Now it
does not work. What could be wrong with it?Can it be repaired easily and
cheaply, if so, how/where? We live in Lancashire, UK. Anyones help please?

    It's ****ed.
Slight water damage can sometimes be repaired using ultrasonic cleaning, or
    methylated spirits.
Severe water damage is much harder to repair as chips on the mainboard are
    easily fried.
Being an 8210 though, the moisture has probably been the last straw for the
elastomer, so that will need replacing as well as the battery, just for
    starters.
Probly better off just buying a new phone than paying for repairs.

Yep I agree. You can pick them up on eBay pretty cheaply.

Water ingress as it's known in the trade, is cancer for phones. It
causes internal corrosion which is irreversible and spreads over time.
If anyone ever drops their phone into liquid, take it apart and dry it
completely immediately - if you leave it then the water will do its
damage. Warranty repairers spot water ingress very easily and will not
repair the phone for you. Your best bet, if you cannot dry it
immediately is then to replace the unit.

S/H Ebay one should cost between 40 and 60 I think. Just don't buy one
that says 'sim card rejected'. One possibility (I haven't tried this so no
idea whether it'll work) is to claim it on your household insurance if you
    have accidental damage cover?
