Anyone know if there's a bit of middleware that lets you compose and view
SMS through your PC? (free preferably)

if you're looking for software, the Nokia Suite should allow it. It can
also manage your address book, and look at your sim card. But i believe
    you need a data cable.

if you're looking for a website, there were a number of FREE Texting
sites before... but i've never seen one that works in the U.S.

Hi. OK this idea is not ideal but it's what I do to save time typing on the
phone. I have a .txt file that I keep on my desktop that I write the
message in, save it and then bluetooth it over to the phone. When the phone
opens up the message I select the send option and can send it off as a text
message. When I want to write another message i open the file and just
replace the text. I agree that there should be a better way of doing it as
the 3650 Manager doesn't seem to be able to work with SMS's.

Try the "Remote S60" software. It's awesome. It puts the complete screen of
the phone in a window on your computer. You can control the phone using your
regular keyboard, including of course typing messages.

It also means being able to use your phone while it doesn't 'look' like you're
using your phone. The phone is just somewhere in your pocket or on the table
or whatever and all people see is you using your computer..

You need a Bluetooth or serial connection for this to work, and you need the
    Nokia PC Suite.

    Cheers,

Thanks for the tip; I took a look at that & downloaded the trial version.
I'm not sure that I'm going to buy it, though... it seems like it lets the
phone do a lot of the things that you'd want to do on your phone when you're
not at the computer. Except, of course, that now you need to be at your
    computer again!
