3650 with the 16Mb card.
"Backed up" phone to Mem card before getting it flashed to 3.16 s/w
Had the phone flashed (authorized Nokia Dealer)
Nokia agent reported that now (after the flash) I cannot access any menu's,
camera etc with the card in the phone. The phone reports "System Error"
Remove the card, and all works fine (but obviously can't access any of my
data that is on the card)
He called Nokia head office (Cambridgeshire)
Nokia tell him possibly the card is corrupt.
Nokia agent suggests that I copy the card to my PC (via card reader) then
write back to card.
Read the card. Formatted the card. Re WROTE to the card.
Put card in phone = "System error", and unable to access menu's/apps on
phone.
Removed card. Able to access menu's and apps on phone.
Removed the "back up" file, from the saved card info on my pc.
Wrote BACK to the card all data EXCEPT the "back up"file.
Put card in phone....You've guessed it "system error".
Removed card. Screamed. Shouted. Formatted the bl*&dy card.
Put card (empty/formatted/bugger all on it) back in the phone.
All works fine, BUT none of my data that was on my card!
AAGggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh
Solution 1) Use phone without the card
Solution 2) Format the card, and replace in phone. Works fine, but NO data
that I previously had on the phone
Solution 3) Become friendly with one of those little Finnish people, and
hope they can give an answer
Solution 4) Carry my phone in my pocket, and my pc in a rucksack, in case I
need any of that information. (and of course a generator, and a little fuel)
Solution 5) Post a message on here, find someone who has had a similar
experience, and hope they post an answer! (",)
Over to you folks....
Cheers

We have had a similar problem to you with a Nokia 3650 v3.16.
Basically here is what happended.
Flashed phone with memory card inside phone, booted fine first time round,
everything even data stored on the handset was still there!, using the
camera is a ***** sometimes as it says system error and also sometimes
hardware failure.
The handset was fine before (apart from the rebooting), so we removed MMC,
reflashed, reinserted MMC, formatted with phone, and restored data with
PC... working fine.
Thats it!.

Re: 3650 Mem card s/w upgrade :-(
Daniel,
Thanks for that feedback. It may help when I go and scream (once again) at
Nokia..
Nokia's (Customer Support - Cambridge) answer to the problem " Well
sometimes these things happen, you' have to get a new memory card" "If you
used a card reader, we can't offer support for that". When I "challenged"
the operator on the other end of the phone, her reply was "I'll have to go
and speak with my trainer".
Hey, these people are supposed to be giving customer support, and give us
some confidence. I had no confidence in the person I spoke with. :-(

Well.... Copy the stuff on a "new formatted" MMC card. Should work fine...

Re: 3650 Mem card s/w upgrade :-(
SHOULD work fine, but the story does not end there....
Got ANOTHER MMC card from Vodafone store, from a boxed 3650 (as the MMC card
already comes with some files on. Video, sound files etc). Okay, New card,
so all should be well.
Put the NEW MMC card into handset. A while after, I found that the vibrate
on the phone had stopped working (NOT relevant to the MMC card I hasten to
add!).
Took handset to Nokia Level 4 centre. They flashed the phone again (without
memory card), and still no vibrate. They checked the phone out, and found
that the vibrate contacts were not making a full contact. He adjusted. then
handed me the phone back.
Hit the menu key....Guess what???? "System Error". Would not go into menu's.
Removed the MMC card, and I CAN get into menu's. Put the card back in....NO
access to menu's..
Seems that maybe NEITHER of the CARDS are faulty, but maybe the little
Finnish Nokia-ites forgot to inform their techies of something, coz it seems
mighty strange that after the phone is flashed, there is (what appears to
be) NO contact between phone and card (The phone can't "see" the card). If I
format the card, and put back into the phone, then this works, but of course
having lost all Card inf :-((
