    My partner has had her 8210 knocked into a sink full of water, doh. Now it
    does not work. What could be wrong with it?Can it be repaired easily and
    cheaply, if so, how/where? We live in Lancashire, UK. Anyones help please?

    Water ingress as it's known in the trade, is cancer for phones. It
    causes internal corrosion which is irreversible and spreads over time.
    If anyone ever drops their phone into liquid, take it apart and dry it
    completely immediately - if you leave it then the water will do its
    damage. Warranty repairers spot water ingress very easily and will not
    repair the phone for you. Your best bet, if you cannot dry it
    immediately is then to replace the unit.

    S/H Ebay one should cost between £40 and £60 I think. Just don't buy one
    that says 'sim card rejected'. One possibility (I haven't tried this so no
    idea whether it'll work) is to claim it on your household insurance if you
    have accidental damage cover?
