    Hi.

Just obtained a 6210 from ebay in the last few days.

It's has firmware v3.01, and was thinking of upgrading it.

Any suggestions of which firmwares to stay away from, and which would be the
    best ?

Currently it occasionally locks up when playing about with the AT command set
    (using a DLR3 cable).

Anyway, also wondering which software would be best to use for reflashing it and
which cable to go with it, I can make any cable up no problems - so long as I
    have the circuit diagram.

I currently have a DLR3 cable, which allows using the FBUS and the AT modem
modes (depending on the state of the DTR line).

    Thanks for any help.

    Clive

For around £15, a Nokia Service Centre will update the firmware on your 6210
(as it is no longer under warranty). It is a better option than risking
    ruining your phone for good.

Thanks for that, have downloaded both.

Yup ok, Got download Rolis479, just about to make the flasher cable up.

    Thanks !

Well, theirs a UK company that will fix it for £12 if I did mess it up.

So I'll have a go first

Huh? You can't download a Dejan box, it's a hardware dongle.

You can download all the info on how to make one though, including pic code etc.

    Cool.

My first ever flash and it worked first time using a home brew flasher and mbus
    leads

Used Rolis v4.78/EEProm Tools v3.1, and followed these instructions ...

    Thanks for the info.

    Happy flashing.

True, but at the price you can pick them up complete with cables, it really
    isn't worth building it yourself.

Well, it only took me 1/2 an hour to build the flasher and mbus interface, so
not a lot of work really. I had all the bits I needed laying around already so
    was easy enough.
