Beware X-post :-)
Hi,
I have just taken delivery of my Jabra BT200 (still charging) and the
documentation states that if you pair with the Nokia 6310i using 'handsfree'
instead of 'headset' profile then additional features are available.
O.K. - just chased my own tail round the Jabra site, and not having any luck
so far with the Nokia documentation.
Can anybody tell me what the 'enhanced features' are that you get with
handsfree profile over headset profile?
TIA

voice dialing and similar.
on the jabra site it tells you how to goto the other profile, its holding
one button and another then turn on or summut.

You can get to this link through the FAQ on the Jabra site.

Tony,
did you actually read this page? :-))
It says that there are enhanced features and you can turn them on by
registering as 'handsfree' not 'headset'.
You register as 'handsfree' by holding the multi-function and volume control
buttons down when entering pairing mode.
Great!
[Unfortunately I already knew that - as I said in my original post I have
been chasing my tail around the Jabra website.
This information also comes with the headset in the additional
documentation.
The only thing the documentation does not tell you is what these enhanced
features are!]
----------------------------------
Now back to my original question.
----------------------------------
What are these 'enhanced features'?
It doesn't say.
[AFAIK Voice Dialling is also available via the 'headset' profile although I
haven't tried it yet, so it probably isn't that.]
In hope

Re: Blutooth enhanced features with Jabra BT200 and Nokia 6310i
The Jabra site seems to be down at the moment. On either the page I provided
the link to or in the FAQ Jabra stated that there were 4 advanced features.
One was aVoice Dialing, press and hold the button until you hear 2 beeps
(while not on a call), one was Do Not Answer a Call, press and hold button
until you hear 2 beeps (while not on a call), one was Call Hold, yup you
guess it.....press and hold button till you hear 2 beeps, and I can't
remember what the 4th feature was but guess what? You activate it by
pressing and holding the button till you hear 2 beeps.
I'll check back when the site is up and see if I can find a better link.

Re: Blutooth enhanced features with Jabra BT200 and Nokia 6310i
David,
The Jabra Site is now up. Now I will ask you the very same question, Did YOU
read the page? Right underneath the paring instructions is a list of the new
features:
.. Last number redial (when not on a call)
While the headset is on, press until you hear TWO short beeps, release
immediately.
.. Rejecting an incoming call (when not on a call)
When your phone rings, press until you hear TWO short beeps, release
immediately.
.. Call-waiting (swapping between 2 calls)
When your phone notifies you of another incoming call while you're on a
call, press until you hear TWO short beeps, release immediately.
.. Putting a call on hold
While you're on a call, press until you hear TWO short
beeps, release immediately. Repeat to retrieve the call.

Strange goings on - I did read the page (sevral times) before asking the
question.
I also checked back after reading your posting (the URL colour showed that
it was one I had already visited) and I still could not see any details
about the additional features.
I have recently had a similar problem with the Belkin web site - I could see
one set of pictures, and a contact in NZ could see totally different
pictures using the same URL.
If I still have the same problem I will see about saving the web page then
publishing it to show the differences.
Possibly an old version is being cached somewhere between me and TDK.
** Just checked and I can see the information now - totally wierd! **
Cheers

Re: Blutooth enhanced features with Jabra BT200 and Nokia 6310i
It might just be that you're caching the page and not getting an update. I
have seen plenty of wierd problems with Internet Explorer. Usually I delete
all my temp files and cached pages about every other month or so. Seems to
help somewhat.
Glad you found the info.

Re: Blutooth enhanced features with Jabra BT200 and Nokia 6310i
I think it's a transparent proxy on the ISP. David is referring to a set of
images where he commented on differences and I replied "they're exactly the
same." It just happens that they were not, after I refreshed my browser
(CTRL-F5 to override proxy and caches) a few times.
