Hi there,
I have all the parts for a Nokia car kit(incl.a FSS dual band
antenna-interior window mount) to suit one of the following mobiles;
5110, 6110, 6150, 6210, 6310i, 7110. I'd like to install it into my
Opel/Vauxhall-Corsa(93).
Can anyone advise me on how best to do this? Can it be connected to
the main speakers in the car or do we have to use the speaker that
comes in the box?
I'd appreciate if someone sent me some info on how to connect up all
the coloured wires and best place to mount the mic, antenna, speaker
and HFU-2 box.
Thanks in advance,
Clive

Sounds like the Car-k91 - I've fitted on in my Mercedes 230 - easy!

Use the speaker supplied - it will fit neatly in somewhere - like
behind your stereo in the dashboard, or under the passenger seat...
etc etc..

Re: How to install a nokia car kit into a Corsa?
I have installed the Mic and antenna easily enough through the
interior-done very neatly I have to admit! My big problem is knowing
which wire slice and dice to join the black and the red cables to?
There is a large loom of wires that has plenty of black and red wires
in it running under the shelf in my Corsa-which to cut into?! I dont
have a cigerette lighter in the car either.
Please advise..!
Thanks

What, no lighter socket at all..? I find that hard to believe, there must
be one somewhere..? How old is your car..? A friend was loaned a new Corsa
a few weeks ago when his car was in for repairs, and he gave me a lift in
it a couple of times, I remember being very impressed, but not being a
heavy smoker (and never in a car) I didn't notice where the socket might
have been. I had a car some years ago where the socket was inside the
ashtray, if you're not a smoker maybe you haven't looked in there..?! Just
a silly thought, but it's possible maybe..?
Have you spoken to your local dealer..? I have found that the head service
engineer can be a useful contact..!
If all else fails, try and find a route for the loom through the bulkhead
to the engine compartment and run wires directly back to the battery.

Re: How to install a nokia car kit into a Corsa?
If its any help to you, buy a Haynes manual for your car (or lend one from
the library - cheaper!) as these have pretty good wiring diagrams within.
Look for the wiring diagram that details the wiring for the radio, as
this'll have a permanent live (to maintain the radio's memory) and a
switched live off the ignition (for the radio's ignition sensing - don't
know if you need this); you can get an earth by using any random bare peice
of metal (usually a structural nut or something - less chance of getting the
wrong wire), but oviously get your tester on everything to verify before
connecting everything up. I don't know what car kit you're using, but I
installed my CARK-112 (bluetooth) this way, as it needs the permanent live
for its "sleeping" mode, and the ignition sensing to know when to grab the
phone; I just used them where they came out of the fuse box and it ended up
a neat job, you wouldn't even know there was a carkit installed save for the
mic and the little push button. One other thing, if you can get hold of some
wire tap-ins (also called snap-lock automotive connectors I think), it means
you don't have to "slice and dice" your wires, they just snap on and will
crimp your wires together, much easier!
Hope this is useful.
