Hello everyone!
I have problem with my N6310i. Hardware version 1521, software version 5.10.
Somehow I cannot communicate with any BT device except audio device. I have
BT ELSA Vianect handsfree in my car and it's working fine. Unfortunately,
does not work with my iPAC 3970 nor with my USB BT dongle.
iPAC can connect and work with dongle, my wife's SonyEricsson T610 can work
both with my dongle and iPAC, but f****** N6310i cannot!!!
Authorised service station told me that N6310i have BT enabled for audio
only, it's not "master BT" like N7650. Crazy as I am, I enabled Audio
Gateway and phone connected to BT dongle thinking it's audio device. Even
showed headphone icon on display.
Anybody knows how to "override" this restriction? Your help is much
appreciated.
Best regards

Re: Problems with N6310i
Service centre is talking complete and utter hairy bollocks. Problem is the
firmware. To do anything useful with your 6310i other than audio stuff, you
need to go ask the service centre to upgrade your firmware to version 5.50.
That should fix your problems (then go get the Nokia PC suite from their
website, it's free and you can play with your phone over bluetooth). As long
as your phone is within its year guarantee this should be for free (tell
them its what the clubnokia careline told you to do).
Good luck.

Thanks G,
Unfortunately my device is out of warranty. Still, I will upgrade firmware
to 5.5 on my expense.
I've spoke with Tech. Dept. of Nokia representative in Croatia and they
informed me officialy that N6310i is proven to work with following devices:
TDK USB Bluetooth module
3COM Bluetooth PCCard (3CRWB6096)
Xircom CreditCard (CBT)
Brainbox USB Bluetooth adaptor
Digianswer Bluetooth Software Suite
Other devices may have problems with communication. Still, Bluetooth should
be "open" and "universal" and should not be limited to certain adapter
manufacturers.
Best regards

Again, I must agree with "G" - you should not have any problems using
your N6310i when upgraded to fw 5.50 & PC Suite 4.88 with any BT
adapters now. Many other BT adapters - even some El Cheapo ones - work
just fine with N6310i.
Our local Nokia Service Center are famous (or should I say infamous)
for their reliable, accurate and timely information - read between the
lines...
I am using a fw 5.10 phone with IPAQ 3870 (have used it also with
3970, 5450) without a single glitch. If you have any questions on this
subject after upgrading the fw, I am here to help.
Also, many of the BT headsets I've tested work just fine - among these
are Nokia HDW-2, SE HBH-30, HBH-60, Jabra BT200, BT300, Motorola
HSW8000...

BT is, but Nokia's BT implementation unfortunately isn't

Just came back from with my Nokia upgraded to FW 5.5 and still not working.
PC Suite 4.88 downloaded from Nokia website. Nokia phone is found and then
PC Suite asked me for COM port to connect to. I selected COM5 as this one is
listed in Local Services list. Communication starts, and after some time
phone returns message "connection opening to the device failed". So it's
communicating, it's paired with BT dongle, but cannot communicate.

Thanks Sasa,
I will try to connect Nokia and iPAC later. Will contact you if problems
still persist.

First assign one BT COM port for usage with your Nokia. Then when connecting
to PC Suite you have to select exactly the same port and it's working.
