There is a lot of debate raging over the merits of each of the above
products (perhaps not so many merits with PC Suite other than it
really is free). After much frustration trying to get PC Suite working
properly with a 6610 and DKU-5 cable I gave up and bought
LogoManager's MobiMB program. It fills the gap nicely of the functions
of PC Suite I just couldn't get working - namely uploading tones,
    backgrounds, games.

It's an interesting market, with only 3 real contenders (the free one
from Nokia and 2 competing commercial products) and the authors of the
3rd party products actively participating in the online debates. It
would be nice to see Nokia participate and defend their product, but
    you can't have everything.

For what it's worth, here are my reasons for making the choice I did:
    1. LogoManager is cheaper. While Oxygen has much more features, I
couldn't really justify the up front cost when the only bits I really
    needed are what LM provides.
    2. I was not comfortable with the licence arrangement of Oxygen.
Regular readers will be well aware of the debate raging over this so
    here is my 2c:

I understand the desire of Oxygen to protect it's intellectual
property, however when that becomes so restrictive as to disadvantage
your legimitate clients, then you need to rethink it. Your policy is
clear enough and has been further clarified in the multitude of
responses to posts, but I think you are missing the point. On the
whole I don't think the majority of people are ignorant of your
licencing policy, rather that they don't agree with it and think it is
unfair. They like your product and want to buy it, but not under those
conditions. They do not want to have to keep forking out dosh just so
they can keep the option to upgrade their phone and have the software
they have already bought keep working. It turned me off and I think a
lot of people are probably not buying it because of this reason. You
may even find that more people are obtaining it illegally to avoid the
    issue.

Good to see the matter fairly addressed.

I suspect that nokia read this group, but don't post otherwise they would be
    inundated with FAQs.

If you were Nokia, wouldn't you follow a newsgroup dedicated to your product?

As you said it's all about choice. me I find Oxygen(trial version) is great
fro backing up stuff. where as PC suit is good for syncing with outlook
which is for me the most importent. If Oxygen had a sync feature rather then
import / export that was equal or better the PC suit I would spend the $$.
at this stage even with the exchange rate fromm $AU I could not justify the
    purchase .

and a lot of technical problems would be asked too ...eg why is there no
    netmonitor on DCT4, blabla ;-)
