Can someone tell me how I can tell on which version software my phone is
    running?
(postings below tell I need version 5.5)
Also I don't understand the different story's about synchronizing between
phone and laptop. My laptop has a bluetooth module. I keep seeing notes that
I still need a pcmcia card before I can use PCSuite for sync.
All that happens now is a connect and disconnect a second later.
I have a perfect sync between my Ipaq 5450 and the laptop without any other
    hardware.
If you have the solution I would be happy to read it.

    thanks
    Hilde

Press *#0000# and the first line gives the software version.

    *#0000#

You'll need PC Suite version 4.88 from Nokia as well and choose the PC
Suite connectoid on the phone to connect to.

on the main screen *#0000# and it will tell you.

I think what you are saying is kind of what I am going through now.
But my phone is only 4.8 so I need to get to 5.5 before I can be
    sure.

There are conflicts (to call them) between some bluetooth things and
    some phones.

There are also conflicts with some bluetooth "dongles" and
    computers/USB ports too.

That's all I can say for now.

    My machine is not working.

I've read all this with interest as I'd also like to know how to do
it, do you just key in the #0000# from the phone and then hit send ?
All that happens is I get a 'Bad Connection' message.

I suspect I'm doing soemthing wrong. Any tips ?

Yes, you didn't read the original message correctly. It's *not*
    #0000# it's *#0000# i.e. star/hash/zero-zero-zero-zero/hash You did
    not use the initial *.

I am not sure if it is my progoram which is hiding the codes, but
    what you enter is:

    star hash 0000 hash.

I wrote them in English to avoid any possible problems with viewers
changing their context to text formatting commands etc.

    Ok?
