    Hi All,

I was making a call on my one day old N-Gage today. Hung up the call and the
phone started displaying "System Error"... "Not again", I said, recalling
previous terrors with my (still working ) 3650. I turned it off, pulled
the battery and tried to turn it back on. It got as far as the Nokia screen
and then the screen gets loads of lines through it and it reboots. It tries
to start up 2-3 times and then powers off...

I know there is a code (pencil key + Power button) to make it go into safe
mode but I can't remember exactly. I have tried to start the phone with and
    without sim and mmc cards...

    Help!

    Justin.

Why in the world would you even be dealing with issues like that on a 1 day
old phone. You march back where you got it, hand the phone to the
salesperson and tell them TOTALLY unacceptable. What happens if you get it
fired up, and then 3 weeks later u get a repeat? Now its a defective phone,
but will be processed as a regular warranty repair. Get out of it now. Run,
    dont walk, to your dealer.

I'm looking at one for the MP3 player and Sonic game all in my phone.
How's Sonic play? Still the 2D platform type, or has it gone 3D?
Also, how's the framerate etc? Better than Tomb Raider? I was getting
somewhere between 7 and 10 FPS on the demo version in a shop... Unacceptable
for gameplay in my case, i can handle 15-20... although i do get 90+ FPS on
    my PC... lol

Welll geez, of course. That makes sense. Sonic Hedgehog...arghhh, now I
feel...well, never mind how I feel...lolbt. I am not too interested in the
gaming aspects of N-Gage just yet. I want my calendar and contact list to
sync up....sighhhh, for working PC Suite would be nice. I might be
interested in getting Splinter Cell for N-Gage tho sometime in the future.

    Thx for the info.

You download java games, but buy the memory card ones.

I would hope that in time people will write games that can be dropped to a
    blank mmc?

Only problem there is copy protection, but it's not really any different to
the current set of apps for the series 60 range.

    > > ***By the way, how do u purchase games for the ngage? Download them like

why absurd? this is how it's happened since the 1980's. ROM cartridges ARE
memory cards. buying a new MMC card with the games is not absurd, it is in
fact much better since the cards are a lot smaller than any other game
cartridge. in this way the N-gage functions exactly like a gameboy, you by a
game in the store, take the card out of the box and put in your device.

How big are most of the N-gage games anyway? at £28 for a 128MB MMC card, I
can see games being rather expensive - just like the rest of the games
    industry I suppose.

They seem to come on 8MB cards even though some games use much less space.
