    Hi everyone,

    Some questions:
    - why can't I store more than 4-5 text messages on my mobile?
    - why do I always get the warning 'warning: you have active diverts' when I
    try to phone?
    - how do I get rid of that warning?
    - why do I get text messages in parts? sometimes I get a message in several
parts, and I get the message that I can no longer receive additional
messages - so I lose several parts...

    Thanks in advance,

    Princess Morgiah

You have to many messages stored in sent items or another group?

Because you have diverts, e.g. to voice mail.

    > - how do I get rid of that warning?

    turn off all your diverts.

A message is only 160 characters so it's broken down.

You mean my outbox? I don't have any sent items group. There are no messages
    in my outbox group.

Yeah, I gathered that much - but why and how? I never made any diverts! Is
    this a standard setting?

    How?

True - forgot about that. But why is it then that I only receive 2 of 3
    parts?
I get part 1 + message that my inbox is full. I read the message and delete
    it.
A few minutes later I get part 2, and the same message. I do the same.
    So where is part three?

    Thanks for your reply!

What about games, 'picture' messages etc. large phonebook? I'm not sure if
the 3410 uses phone or SIM memory for SMS, in which case you would have to
get a bigger SIM from your provider, or just get a real phone with some
    decent storage space.

It's so that you don't miss calls, so the person calling you doesn't just
get a 'number not available message' in indecipherable glaswiegian. yes it's
standard, a) so that you don't miss calls, and b) you provider can then
charge you for calling your mailbox.

Menu>call diverts (or menu>settings>call diverts.) 'cancel all diverts. Your
provider may have a seperate code to enter too - see their documentation.

some would call it the ether, some would call it thin air. I call it a
carpet where the operators sweep everything they don't want to deal with.
Just like email, or regular crappy postal mail, things get lost. especially
when your phone is full, out of service or some other thing that prevents
the message from getting to you straight away as normal. it happens, but
thats life. its crap, and nokia ain't helping.

No games, no picture messages, and about 30 numbers. I guess the phone uses
    SIM, but I'm not sure.

If by 'real' phone you mean one of the latest gimmicks with mms and other
stuff I'll never use, I'll pass - I only need the phone to call in an
emergency myself and so I can be reached by customers. Since it's my phone
and not the company's, even that last item is negotiable.

Ok, thanks for the explanation. Fortunately my provider does not charge me
for my mailbox, so I'll leave the divert on then.

Tried that, did not work. But I must admit that I still have to check for
    that code you mentioned.

Nokia or no Nokia, I wish I still had my 3210, though...

    Thanks,

Yes, but then you'll want to call the person back who left the message, and
that IS charged, even if you end up in their mailbox.....

    Peter.
