Hmm a 3650 with a more normal keypad. still not quite stylish IMO quite
what stylish is I'm not sure, but the P800 is closer to stylish - by not
having one!!) lets call it a 3650i to save confusion. I would definitely
approve of a better screen. Xpress-on covers haven't been a 'feature' for
the past 5 years.if these are a major factor in buying your phone, you
really should open up a designer clothes shop in New York, and charge a
£1000 for a sock (each not pair) and perhaps you'll meet the other person
    (singular) who feels the same.

If anyone finds a way to mod my 3650 with such a conventional layout I'll be
the first to try it. I had thought of trying to jury-rig something like this
back when I first got it, but I'm simply to lazy to have bothered exploring
it. after all, the keypad is nothing more than that plate at the bottom of
the phone, and should be fairly easy to rebuild.

It bring the question - is this nokia finally starting to listen to people?
have they finally understood that despite the power and functions in the
phone, it isn't going to sell if you put such a useless keypad on it? if so
why are the ugly toys and French wet dreams like the N gage. 3300 and 7600
and god knows what else they have burning holes in the back of their heads.

but what does this mean for the release of the 6600? could this be an
interim model, because nokia have finally realised that none of their
handsets actually appear on time? so rather than take the heat, they'll try
and release this so it looks like they're doing something.

There is nothing here that the current 3650 doesn't do. the screen is
better - but only what should have been there in the first place - 4096
colours only just does the job. it's still the same low res though. the
keypad again. is nothing that shouldn't have been there in the first place.
Admittedly, there aren't a lot more features you can add to a phone without
going down the 3G route - but nokia still has only 2 3G phones, neither of
which really count, since none of them can actually make a useable video
call (the camera's being in the wrong place, looking the wrong way.) and the
fact I have never seen one in the UK. WHY. Even a horrible little stone age
country like the UK has had a 3G network for nearly a year, but still there
are no nokia's usable on it. plain stupid in my opinion. It's like if
Chrysler were still making horse drawn carts 10 years after the automobile
industry took off. it now looks that in February. when I come to upgrade I
will have to change both network and handset manufacturer, since none of the
rest of the UK networks have even heard of 3G yet. In my experience I have
had to look at least 6 months ahead in buying a new mobile, since this is
the time it takes for nokia to release a suitable handset - if I see
something I want now, it might be just out by the time I come to buy it, but
even then, it's late, and out of date. I was reluctant to buy the 3650, but
I wanted to wait until the rest of the networks started 3G services, thereby
making it available to more people, and letting me have the bonuses of
staying with my current provider (UK Voda) but now it seems there is little
happening. I remember hearing some news story of how nokia had loaned vast
amounts of money to the UK networks, with a view to helping them purchase
the license for a 3G network, presumably, with a view to having leverage as
a handset supplier for said network. if so, then Where is i???? the network
is not there, and neither are the handsets.

Sorry I'm getting a little off topic here. basically it all boils down to
the fact that the above handsets are simply improved versions of an already
outdated design, like the 7250i - it's nothing that the original model
shouldn't have been, just correcting mistakes. It's a start, but hardly
    retribution.

I agree with you..the 9210i is just a slightly better version of the 9210..
theres not much the 9210i can do that the 9210 can't...

Same for the 6310i, and all the rest. I think this is probably the best
'okay, we screwed up' we're going to get from nokia. It's not just nokia
though - the sharp GX-10 has recently been relaunched as the GX-10i - the
difference? Triband. oh, and it's slightly darker. again, nothing that the
original shouldn't have been at it's time of release.

The 3510i, and 8910i both stand out, as these are both colour versions of
previous mono phones. the problem is that neither is actually any good -
compared to any other colour phone, they suck. how far do you take 'better
    than the original'?
