I have a 3410 which I've had for more than a year so that the network has
given me the unlock codes. Two 10 digit codes. They then gave a very cryptic
unlock procedure:
remove sim and turn on the phone
press #pw++1# and then #pw++2#
the should now be unlocked.
Where do I insert the 2 codes that they gave me?
If I enter #pw++ (using the * and # keys) I see the corresponding characters
in the screen, but when I try to press the last # button, all I hear is the
key beep. No # comes on the screen. No matter where I enter the code they
gave me, it doesnt work.
eg.
#pw++11234567890#
#pw++1#1234567890
#pw1234567890++1#
And the network has supplied the codes, fulfilling their obligation. Al my
requests for support end up on their web site with the same cryptic
instuctions.
I've tried every imagineable combination but to no avail. Can anyone help
me??
Thanks in advance
Peter

Re: Nokia 3410 unlocking
To unlock your phone now, follow these simple steps:
1) Take out the SIM card from the phone.
2) Type in the following code in the phone:
First Code
After pressing this code the phone should be unlocked.
If not type in the following (still without the SIM card in the phone):
Second Code
Remember: You only have 5 times to enter the code, after that - only a
cable solution can help you.
Further instructions
To show p in the phones display - just press * three times within two
seconds.
To show w in the phones display - just press * four times within two
seconds.
To show + in the phones display - just press * twice within two seconds.

No, the networks can calculate unloc codes for DCT3 phones... seems it has
never been cracked... unlike the DCT4
I too could be wrong there, about it never been cracked.

Re: Nokia 3410 unlocking
Dom,
Thanks for your response. As you state I can only try 5 times to enter the
codes. You saÿ that I should remove the sim and enter the codes? Without the
PW stuff? First code, is that the 10 digit code they gave me? (5465444445).
The second code being 5339120448, what would be the *exact* key press order?
If I only have one shot left, I don't want to throw it away by experimenting
anymore.
Thanks in advance for your help
Peter.
