Anyone know when Nokia will release a decent business handset in the UK to
replace the 6310? Looking for a new handset with bluetooth and a colour
screen to replace a t68i and have always liked Nokias. But the 6310 while a
    nice phone seems dated.

The closest I have seen to what you might like is the 6600
(http://www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,,39193,00.html) which is supposed to be
released in the "4th Quarter of 2003" in the UK. As far as I am aware,
this phone is already in shops in other markets, so it should be around
    fairly soon.

Personally, I was looking at the Sony Ericsson T610 to replace my T68i
because the Nokia phones around for the last few months have not
impressed me at all. However, the T610 seems to have flaky and slow Java
support. so I have been on the lookout for a new device for a month or two.

The 6600 runs Symbian OS, meaning that it should have the same or
similar interface to phones like the 7650 and 3650. Having used a 3650
fairly extensively, I can tell you that the Symbian OS is very
impressive (including support for it's own native applications), and
much faster than that of the T610.

Bluetooth support seems to work well in Symbian phones, and the 6600
will also include a memory card slot to allow you to expand the storage
    capacity.

In short, this is the phone that I expect to own fairly soon. Hope this
    helps.

Certainly does. One thing I really hate about my t68i is the slow menus.
    Very frustrating indeed!

Yep, seconded, altho it's not _too_ bad most of the time, it really
shows up with SMS / MMS / e-mail and sometimes when browsing the
phonebook (oh wait, thats pretty much all I use it for :-S).

The Nokia Symbian phones are *much* better from this respect, but most
of them are huge or have weirdly arranged buttons, hence my waiting for
    the 6600.

IIRC it is available in some parts of Europe and Asia, don't know about
    others.

Can anyone confirm this / let us know about others?

Have you any opinion on the Z600, saw it in a brochure and it looks pretty
    smart.
