If the hash key on a 3310 has stopped working altogether, will
replacing the screen/keyboard unit fix the problem? Is this an easy
    job?

    TIA,
    Mark

Yeah - I notice that the plastic casing of the keyboard unit is
cracked across the corner near the hash key. Replacement the best
option I reckon - but a fairly straightforward job you think? Anything
to bear in mind while doing it?

    Thanks.

Well, I havent touched my 3310 much (nvr opened it cos warranty claims are a
    headache with a non-authorised import phone =/ ) but generally, take a
digital photo before you move anything around.. the parts in the 3310 are
not 100% securely fastened - they're more to "put in place"...once u open
the keypad white assembly be careful not to lose anything.. also be careful
    of the elastomer fitting..

    | Thanks.

Changed LCD twice on my 3310 (first one was worn although brand new), no
particular problem, my advice being to get a T6 torx screwdriver.
Where do you see an elastomer ?

No, you didn't. Yes, there's a kind of gasket, seal or whatever you call it
around antenna, but you don't need to remove it for "usual" servicing, like
    a LCD removal / exchange.
Perhaps to fit one of those "antenna boosters"-which I doubt they're as
    efficient as they say.
My point is, the keyboard+LCD assembly is secured to PCB through these 6 T-6
screws, but just clipped into phone's box & SIM reader, i.e could be less
reliable than the 51xx series for example.
