Folks, a while ago I got "screwed" because the person in the shop
said the dongle would work, when it wouldn't.
Anyway, that aside, a mate loaned me one of his which *IS* a WIDCOMM
compliant one.
We quickly tried it on his machine and it seemed ok.
With it and another "simple" program we could download the phonebook
from the phone and see it on the computer's screen.
Oh, he uses XP. I use 98se. He knows that.
Anyway, I get home, dongle, CD and all in hand.
Stupid thing won't install.
It gets about half way through the install and just stops.
The machine isn't dead, but I can't get to the start menu or anything
like that.
Ctrl Alt Del work, and I get a list of things, and it appears that
the install program is "not responding".
AARRGGHH!
Anyone have any ideas?
p.s.
Looking at the CD:
Bluetooth BTW Utility.
BTW version 1.3.2.7
But it DOES have the WIDCOMM stack thing mentioned.

Thanks.....
