Bought my 6600 today. Unfortunately I can not use pc suite etc as I do not
have bluetooth or infrared on my pc. I will send the contacts of the phone
book manually by infrared between the two phones. I have also managed to
copy the gallery folder and ringtone folder of the 7250i on to an
alternative MMC and moved them on to the phone. However I cannot get the
6600 to play the ringtones from the 7250i. What I mean is you can play them
and listen to them and choose them as an option to use that ringtone for
calls but instead of playing that tone it plays the original nokia tune
built into the 6600. I have realised that it is just the ringtones I have
moved over as if I choose any other tone already in the 6600 it does use
that tone. My ringtones are in .mid format and plays in winmedia normally
and on the 7250i normally. Do I need to change the format that they are in?
Secondly I was rather disappointed that although we were given a 32mmc with
the handset that they have used a total of 22mb for their gunk and only left
8mb free. I know we are free to delete it all but doesn't leave us much
spare space while we try out the stuff on it.
Review
Only had it half a day so not much comment. However ringtone is very quiet
so I have to use the vibrate. Tried to get the rose pink, my being a girly
but of course it was the light grey version.
I find it a big step up from the 7250i, reminds very much of my pda Tungsten
2, shame as i only bought it about 6 weeks ago so that will be going to
waste now. Graphics good, pictures in gallery much larger than those in the
7250i which now sits as a dinky picture on the screen. They have put the
oplogo top right of the phone so it is now out of the way of any screen
saver or wallpaper you may use. I'll stop my dribble now until I have used
it more indepth.

try and live without your PDA for more than a month, and you'll soon be glad
of the extra bulk on the phone. at least I'm not totally deaf dumb and blind
if I don't carry the PDA. I did consider switching from a 3650 to a 8910i,
since the main use is the PDA internet over BT, but unfortunately the 8910i
was utter pants at everything bar looking good when opening, and I'd
normally keep it in a pocket and use a headset anyway. to have a decent
phone, we need to have a smartphone, and that means big, with many
duplicated features between the 2 devices. but still the larger screen and
easier text entry are a plus to carry. although the PDA would make a
terrible phone. convergence is coming, but it still has a long time to go.
