Nokia PC Suite works via *original* Nokia DKU-5 cable only.

I'm using my Nokia 3589i and Verizon to surf as I type this. I just
got a DKU-5 cable. Obviously it works if you can read this. But, the
PC Suite software is a little buggy. It doesn't crash/freeze my
laptop (WinXP), but it gets confused as to whether my phone is plugged in or
not. It gets it backwards: if my phone is connected it says not and
vice-versa. I have to click on the cable icon a few times to get it
to work sometimes. It is sometimes a challenge to get PC Suite to
agree that my phone is connected when the phone itself thinks it is
connected. Once I do that, I can edit my address book, etc.
Without PC Suite, the hardware works great as a wireless modem. I
just plug in the phone and dial up. I do have the latest PC Suite
from the Nokia website. Obviously they need to work on it.
