Hi,
My wife and I have two 3310's, the first one (mine) suddenly died, and
refused to start up. So i left it in the kitchen drawer, and bought a
replacement. Then my wife dropped her's outside, managing to break the
screen and crack the chassis, on the corner by the charger ports etc. So I
took the screen out of the first phone and replaced hre broken one with it,
which now works fine, but the two screws at the bottom of the screen now
simply spin, and won't tighten up, the plastic appears to be breaking away,
and hence won't ighten up properly. I've swapped the board/screen over into
the chassis of my old phone, and at least we have one good phone now.
So anyway, having read alot of here lately about the legality of changing
IMEI numbers, what are the chances of getting someone, or getting the
cables/software for me to swap the IMEI of the board to match the "new"
chassis. The fact that I own both phones, and both have been bought brand
new puts away my own moral dilemma, but can I do this at home, and what is
needed, or should I put my flame retardant suit on right now
Cheers

Re: 3310 Chassis Swap
Search for Rolis Nok Tool 1.7 or 1.8
Get an MBUS cable for your 3310
go to nokiafree.org and search the forums...
the rest is easy

Change the chassis and keep all the old bits in a safe place so that IF
necessary you can prove that the change was done for legitimate reasons.
I did a similar thing when my son broke a 2 5210's in just over three weeks
I made 1 good phone from the 2. I still have the bits just in case.
