    New "Family Plans" where effectively, additional lines are now $10/month, as
    opposed to the former $20. As Cinglular also charges $10 for additional lines
    on shared minutes, maybe SprintPCS will follow down that path Monday or soon
    thereafter.

    For the skeptical folks named after states, check it out at

    and if one buys their phones from Amazon.com, SE T610 is free after rebate.

    They have done that [$10 for each additional line beyond the first two
    in the family plan] for ever. I was on that plan with my wife for
    about 6 months until I ditched T-Mobile for a provider that worked
    well everywhere.

    Amazon has had great deals for T-Mobile and Voicestream phones for
    awhile ... perhaps the best deals around.

    Agreed, Cingular has had $10 add on for shared minutes for a while, but just
    this week, TMobile also went to that rate and AT&T did too.

    And Cingular now throws 500 minutes into the pot to start the Rollover minutes
    plan. Given carriers make lots of money off overages, that plan could be
    disadvantageous for them.

    T-Mobile has had $10 for each additional phone on Family plans since I
    used it two years ago.

    ==========

    But unlike SprintPCS, Verizon is

    perceived

    as having the best coverage and service and customer service.

    Not long ago (1-2 years), Sprint also charged $10 per add'n phone.
    The funky thing was that they charged $10 for the primary phone as well,
    so if you wanted a shared account, it was $10 for phone1 and $10 for
    phone2 == $20 total add'n charges. But a 3rd phone was $10, etc.

    It will be interesting to see how long if ever it might be before Sprint goes
    to $10/line for additional phones on shared minutes.
