What is required to sync the T608 with my outlook contacts or
similiar source). I don't currently have a bluetooth AP on my network
nor are any of my PC's BT capable.

There's no IR on the 608...
I sync'd my Palm with Outlook, then sync'd that with an SE T610, then
bluetoothed to my T608. 300+ contacts and a huge schedule, so it was worth
it! Actually, the whole thing took 15 minutes.

Wasn't looking for IR, I'm trying to decide whether to get a BT card
for my palm or my laptop or get one of the USB BT adapters.

Ok. I now have a Bluetooth adapter (USB) and it works very well.
Already syncronized my contacts and schedule (although I didn't really
want my contacts transfered). How would I connect the laptop for brief
    internet access over the phone?
