In this article Quicken investing news states Sprint will give the boot
to its 5-6000 cust serv reps by paying off IBM to take over the big
mess they have. All to the tune of 2-3 billion.

"Sprint will essentially outsource the bulk of its wireless customer
service to IBM under the pact", says the article.

Interesting. IBM is busy moving support for their products off-shore ----
wonder how this fits into the picture? I'm not sure that I'm complaining as
there's no where near enough "O/Siris'" at SPCS, but if this is simply a
ploy to move 5 or 6,000 jobs off-shore under the guise of doing a deal with
    IBM I'd be rather offended.

Word in the tech channels is that Microsoft is also moving some of their
technical work offshore. So, which one is doing it because of the
other? They seem to like to claim that they would like to keep it
domestic, but since the other guy is doing it, we have to too.

    Why sure it is.
How else would they 'save billions' unless it meant transferring jobs to
    India ?
I suppose the reason IBM is involved in the first place it because, like you
said,IBM has been doing this for years, and has apparently established
itself as a broker of sorts in this commodity.

    Ok,
My question is, with the major corps. moving so many jobs off
shore, and putting so many Americans out of work. How the hell do they
expect this economy to support buying the products they make/send over
    there ?
Is this economic fratricide or what ? do these dumb asses have their
    ties too tight ?
And why doesn't our elected officials do something about this ? don't
they see their constituents losing jobs ? don't they realize the impact
this will have on our country ?
Also, why don't we impose the same tariff's and taxes on the products
being made off shore and imported to us as the rest of the world does on
    our exports ?
I'm telling you guys, this is getting ridiculous , makes about as much
sense as taking Philly's advice on .... well anything.
    Something's gotta happen, soon .

Upper management cares only about next quarter's bottom line,
because that determines the size of their bonuses. When the deck of
cards is about to collapse (Enron, etc.) they know they can get out with a
fat severance package aka golden parachute.

Things will have to get much worse before the politicians will do anything.
They get most of their campaign funding from the big companies.

They don't expect the economy to support buying the products. They are
trying to scuttle the first world economies to bring them in line with the
rest of the third world economies.

Because the elected officials are told what to do by the corporations. They
are elected in campaigns funded by corporations. The corporations are the
    government now.

    Jim, see www.infowars.com

I agree something's gotta happen soon. Something will. Article in NY times
talked about an unemploment call enter being outsourced to... you guessed
it... India. Some lobbying group... the ITAA is involved in all this on
behalf of the corporations. They give not a rat's ass about you or I... all
they want now is our money and our labor. If we resist, they'll just cook up
some more terrorist attacks to scare us back into submission.

    Like they're doing right now.

"Oh look, they're questioning the war in Iraq and our handling of their
affairs... time to ratchet up the fear level again to take their eye off the
ball so we can stay in power for four more years"

    Threat level = Fear level.

The polls all show, that Bush and his corporate buddies will be voted
    out of office in November.

Alex Jones has some good points, but hes far too radical to be taken very
    seriously.
Let me guess - Alex talked you into believing that 9/11 is nothing more
than a CIA/Mosad plot, and Bin Laden is as innocent as Mother Teresa ?
I would recommend reading Pat Buchannons books for a more lucid point of
    view on this subject.

Oh and Kerry, with his accepting of record amounts of special interest
financing, and million $$$ heiress wife, will be so much better ?
Face it - The only way a true 'man of the people' will ever get in office
here is if 1,000's of heads roll first.

In any case, with the liberals engaged in media dominating primaries, one
might expect the 'polls',for whatever they're really worth,to show
    democrats on a roll.
Thats precisely why the incumbents have their primaries last.
    Duh.
