Treo 600 - SMS, AIM, EMAIL

I'm trying to get a handle on which application is best for what.

Email is the most obvious and clear to me.

I'm not sure how SMS and AIM (or YIM for that matter) work with the Treo
600. Can someone give me some use cases?

Uh, it's the least clear to me. I would like to use Eudora for Palm
(EIS 2.1), but it's too buggy on the Treo.

I've ended up using the Handspring email app, but it's nowhere near as
handy or efficient as Eudora.

SMS is built-in on the Treo. The SMS application is what they initially
assign to the "mail" button.

I've found that you can run AIM or YIM via the Sprint PCS website at
link Messaging; then Instant Messaging. Both AIM and YIM are available.

I haven't tried YIM.

With AIM, once you log in, you'll get an SMS every time someone sends
you an instant message. And you're apprently continuously logged in
until you explicitly log out. Even if your phone is off.

Snappermail (snappermail.com) is the best email application for the
Treo600 - Latest snappermail version makes use of the 5 way Navigation
button - TRULY One hand operation -fetches/sends email by clicking one icon

both AIM and MSN messenger.
