You can answer this question for yourself, rather than trying to listen=20
to someone else.
When you have the phone in hand, access the phone's main menu. Then=20
select MESSAGING. See shortmail there? Then it doesn't do 2-way SMS,=20
and (according to current plans) it never will.

When the firmware upgrade comes out next mont the RL2500 will do SMS.
1.035SP will make the RL2500 identical to the VM4500 except for the
camera.

Hmm, when I do that with my 5500 -- which *supposedly* does SMS -- I
don't see anything there called "Shortmail". I see:
Send Message
PictureMail
Text Msg
Go to PCS Mail
Voicemail
Does that mean the 5500 won't do it either?

Donkey Agony
Use the Test Msg for your SMS, it works for me.
Also I don't know if it has anything to do with it but i went to my
account of the sprintpcs.com website and in the messaging set it to
SMS only instead of let the default of pick the best. I wasn't able to
SMS untill I did that.
Hope this helps

Another perfect example of your dishonesty, Phillie. And the reason=20
nothing you say should be taken at face value. I didn't say anything=20
about if it's true. I simply and only stated my own viewpoint. I have=20
*never* claimed anything like you invent above, and, in fact, I've taken=20
the trouble, posted directly to you, of pointing out that I'm a low-
level worker in a call center, nothing more.
But you're simply too malicious and dishonest to ever admit that.

Sorry for the confusion, man. I presumed an answer of "Yes, I see=20
Shortmail there," because that *is* the answer the OP would have posted. =
=20
The 5400 (aka RL2500) has it.
I've seen rumors here and on SPI about a software upgrade for the=20
RL2500. If it proves true, I think it removes a pretty significant=20
difference between the two phones as phones. However, I've found=20
nothing that says this really *is* happening.

Its too bad your delusions of grandeur make you think you should know
everything.
