is what a Sprint PCS employee posted today. Conceptually this fully
explains to me why Sprint PCS billing gets so messed up. WHY WOULD THEY
HAVE OR NEED MULTIPLE SYSTEMS?? Just provides opportunities for
information not to pass from one system to another and have things gets
    messed up ! ! !

    Hi!

    I guess you failed comprehension.

There is ONE DATABASE for all billing, but there are a few programs
out there that access that ONE DATABASE.

If I use program A to access that database, any changes I make will
show up, within seconds, when any of the other programs access that
    database.

Yes and that clearly is the cause of Sprint's problems. Why have many do
    the job of one?

Sadly, I don't believe you. No offense. If there was only one
database, then my web info would not show 3 different figures and those
all different from 4 people I've talked to within minutes on the phone.

A week later and they still conflict with each other.

Logic dictates that this is because of different data. Also, knowing
a few people in their billing department help. They truely do have
    multiple databases.

Re: HOW MESSED UP IS SPRINT PCS BILLING

Sprint uses a billing system developed by Convergys and has to pay
Convergy's for it's use. To save money Sprint began developing it's own
billing system in an effort to replace the Convergy's billing system
entirely to avoid paying these fees. The whole project was scrapped this
past fall and Sprint will continue to use Convergys' system.

Redundancy is not a problem it was actually a benefit. It allowed CSRs to
continue to assist customer's while oen system was having maintenance
    performed or was down.

Any billing system errors if they should occur are extremely rare. These
types of errors generally effect thousands not just one individual. If there
was an error in your bill it's a setup error caused by a CSR that did not
    correctly configure your services.

Because, if you knew anything about software design, which you obviously
don't, you'd know that generally in a big system you have different programs
doing separate tasks. Makes the individual programs much easier to maintain.

The only issue I've had with Sprint billing isn't a bug, it isn't a database
or software issue, it's a policy that I don't agree with, and a workaround
was provided. I'll give you details if you want, but I'm sure you won't
need them since they would refute your arguments.

And you can argue with me, but I've been doing software development for quite
some time, so I like to think I know what I'm talking about.

Your chances are as good as mine- slim to none (unless you count the
apologist post that is sure to follow).

So, first you go from calling Sprint PCS employees liars and not
beleiving anything they say, and now you're not only taking their word
as gospel, but getting yourself worked up in a tizzy over the
reliability of their billing systems based on a USENET post?

I get the feeling your Zoloft prescription has run out and you can't
afford the refill. It's the only way I can explain the AMOUNT OF CAPS
you're using IN RANDOM POINTS in your posts today and the excessive use
    of exclamation points ! ! !

It's pretty clear that you're more worked up than you usually are today.

Phillipe, why haven't you moved to Verizon? It seems like you would be
so much happier there. With their patchwork of acquired networks,
multiple billing systems that are *completely* incompatible with each
other and that vary by region, and all the loopholes regarding America's
Choice plans, you'd be so much happier there with the endless list of
molehills that you can turn in mountains.

Alrighty, let's be fair. They are standardizing everything. They aren't
quite finished yet, but what we (VZW customers) have now is MUCH better
than what we had initially at the time of the merger...

besides, Phillie will just pull the same crap he did in the ATTWS newsgroup.

Yea, but you are outvoted Steven ... We want Phillipe to get Verizon ... so
that he can sing their praises ... just like he's done with SPCS and ATTWS.
