    Yes the $35 is non-refundable. What's this about a one-year term? =20
There's NO obligation to keep ERP in effect.

As did I. At $48 a year, I can probably get a used one off of E-Bay. Or
course I am gambling that I won't lose it and am essentially playing the
    insurance company at that point.
Also for me, I have an older phone which I can get off of E-bay for under 10
bucks, so I did and have a replacement already in closet.
    ( I have a ST7867W ).

If I had a $300.00+ PDA phone, getting the insurance might be good option
    though.

Well, insureance is a business like any other and they are there to make
    money.
If someone can't afford to "float" the coat of a new phone, get the
    insurance.
If you can afford to get a new phone or get a used phone or otherwise, don't
    get the insurance.
    I have saved 5 years worth of paying 4 bucks a month. ( total of $240.00 )
I got lucky and haven't lost it or broken it. This is one of those YMMV
    things I guess. ;-)

In most cases if you can prove you bought your cell phone with your
Gold Mastercard, MasterCard will double the length of your warranty, up
to a years worth, in effect giving one a 2 year warranty.

That is exactly what the supervisor told me.

    Re: Sprint Insurance FYI

This is the whole thing in a nutshell. They are relying on the fact
that you are desprete, your phone is broke and at this point you will
accept anything they send you . In my situation, my lcd was wacked out
(actually it has been working ok for the last two days, go figure). I
could still use my phone. So when they sent me the replacement phone
that was not even the same brand, I found it not to be comparable or
better. I purchased a sanyo because of specific features and the phone
they sent me does not have these features. They are clueless call
center people who just repeat what they are told to say! Just *****
until they give you a supervisor and be prepared to go over feature
for feature. They will have no choice to give you a better phone of
    the same brand.

crapped out (After owning it for a little over a year). Call them up,
paid my $35. And a replacement comparable phone was on its way. Arrive
a Samsung with a rotating screen and VGA cam. I Said WTF! I have over
$200.00 in accessories and I HATE SAMSUNG! Called them up to *****,
they said they would send me another phone, I told them I want another
Sanyo new used better worse, I did not care, I just want to be able to
my datacable and I love my Sanyo! 4 days later arives another Samsung
VGA1000 ugly ass phone. Called them up and they said feature for
feature these phones where Identical. I said BS! I purchased a Chevy
sent it in for warranty repair and you have given me a Ford back!
WTF?? 25 minutes later, After them claiming they can not tell what
phones are being sent to the client only that they are comparable, THe
Superviosor finally agrees to send me a Sanyo VM4500. I then said, Why
the hell did you tell me that you can't send me a specific phone, she
said that it is policy. I said your policy sucks and whomever makes
these decesion has fogotten about customer service, she has wasted 1
hour of my time bickering and I hope she was happy... She said have a
nice day. Well we shall see if I indeed get my phone.
So you have $200 worth of accessories for your 8100? Did you ever read your coverage certificate? You may find that if you ask and deal respectfully with the people that provide your coverage, you may get better results.
