What's a "e-mal" reader? Why the nasty tone?
> If it's 600k DON'T DOWNLOAD IT.
You're missing the point. Every 600K attachment which you post pushes
100-600 normal size articles off the news servers. Storage space is
wasted on news servers worldwide. Retention times suffer. Many smaller
news servers will not even store or propagate binary posts in a text
newsgroup. That's why there are rules governing acceptable content in
USENET newsgroups.
> Set up the e-mail client to only download the message when you click
> on the header.
Many people do not read news articles interactively. They batch download
all new articles for offline reading. And they rely on the fact that the
volume of data for their selected newsgroups will not exceed certain
limits in transmission time and storage space. (There was a time --
perhaps before you were born -- when I did this nightly, because long
distance telephone rates were lower.)
> If youcan't do that, then go find a FAQ that will explain it to you.
I already suggested certain FAQs that might explain to *you* how USENET
works.
> Enough of the baby talk.
Pot, kettle, black. Grow up.
> I am posting it in HTML from now on.
Then I will register a complaint with your ISP's abuse department. I
encourage others to do the same. There's enough nonsense in this
newsgroup already to have to endure someone who would willfully violate
USENET standards.
> The text version is unreadable and I am not wasting my time doing a

Good, the text version *is* unreadable. The HTML is not much better,
BTW. Why waste your time (and ours) at all?
> Help yourself and stop acting like children here.
>

Speaking of childlike, insulting the readership of this newsgroup is not
likely to attract anyone to your FAQ. You have a strange attitude for
someone who purports to want to provide informative material.
(BTW, you would have more credibility if you'd provide a real name
and/or email address.)

I agree with Scott. I've been on this newsgroup for almost 6 years, and the
requests for a FAQ have been very low. I don't know why you thought you had
to create one ... considering all the other sources that are available via a
link, instead of clogging up everyone's news reader folders.
I mean, it's nice to see the effort you've put into it, but it's redundant,
per all the other links available. If you want to show off your work, put
it on a server and just post the URL.

It is against most providers' terms of service to post binaries or attachments
to a newsgroup not specifically designated for that purpose. Such newsgroups
generally have the word "binaries" somewhere in the group name.

Well, if you're going to be a jerk, perhaps I should retract the offer I
made earlier. Not being aware of the rules is one thing. Intentionally
breaking them and being an asshole about it is another thing, and isn't cool.

Well, I just retracted the offer in a post that may or may not have made
it to your news server yet, since you insist that you are right and everyone
else is a "baby", including lots of people who have been SPCS customers for
years and know more about the stuff that's available out there than you do.
Neither I nor anyone else on this newsgroup owes you any favors...

Ok, I just gotta ask ... Who the HELL do you think you are, spamming this
newsgroup with your FAQ, that no one wants posted to this newsgroup? Really!
Who asked you, a newbie, to put it together, along with your inaccuracies,

Who made you the Grand Poo-Bah of this newsgroup?

Pretty good info in it, although a person actually seeking an answer=20

Go to almost any other Internet location. Newsgroups, web sites,=20

It's not big posts. You probably have a bad e-mail client. You are using
Outlook Express
X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2800.1158
You need to go to brawny labs films and down load y-proxy. It will give
outlook express Yenc. That's your problem. Your e-mail client does not
support yenc.

Re: Sprint PCS FAQ - Version 5 (work in progess)
I only put down someone who puts me down. Check the posts in order and you
will see. If you do not want to view the FAQ, don't download it. There are
many things I added that I have not seen anywhere else. Besides, a FAQ is a
collection of information for newbies, not nessesaily orginal. FREQUENLY
ASKED QUESTIONS and frequently answered questions. This means they have
been answered before over and over. That's the point. if you want new
stuff, subscribe to a website. If youare new to something and want some
basic questions answered youread the FAQ first before answerring questions.
Also, if I am doing a bad job with the FAQ, then that is 100% better than
you have sense you have never even attenpted to put forth effort to make
one.
