Hi All -
I am wondering if it is possible to get rid of the last of my landlines...
I have TiVo, and it dials out every so often to get a guide. Does anyone
know if there is a way for it to dial out through a cell phone? I don't mind
parking my phone there a few times a month. I also want to have the ability
to use my cell phone as a backup if my broadband access (Comcast) is down,
but I suspect this is a much easier task.

It wants a POTS interface, so you'd need to get one of the old POTS
adapters for old phones.

Isn't there a broadband interface?

I think there is for the standalone TiVos, but not for the ones integrated
with a DirecTV satellite receiver.
