I have an AirPrime PC3200 PCS connection card that I am trying to
install on a Win 2000 laptop. Software installs fine on my XP laptop,
but aborts as it attempts to install drivers every time on the Win
2000 laptop. I had a Novatel 201 card installed on the laptop, so I
know I can get at least one connection card working, but I want to use
    the AirPrime card. Any thoughts?

You do not state what hardware you are using this on. It is likely not a
Win2K issue but rather, a hardware issue. Does your laptop have a 32 bit
cardbus on the slot you are using? Is it also 3.3 volts and not 3 volts
like a good number of laptops? You need both the proper 3.3 volts and a 32
bit cardbus to use this. The Merlin can run on hardware that has neither
of these but being a 16 bit card, it consumes more power and gets hot but
it works on just about anything. Let us know more info here.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure of the hardware, but would welcome
thoughts on how to figure it out (I'm not much of a tech, as I am
making clear, and I got the laptop from my office). It's a Thinkpad
    T40 with a Pentium M. Thanks again.

Likely you need to install the drivers BEFORE inserting the card. Turn
off any antivirus software whilst you are doing that Install.

Thanks for fol-up. Corporate issued laptop, not sure what antivirus
software is running to be honest. Thoughts on how to figure out?
Can I install the connection software while running in safe mode as an
alternative? Or is that unworkable and/or bad idea?
