As far as a phone goes for retaining a signal and sounding good. Does the
Sanyo vm4500 (5500) hold any advantage over the older Sanyo 8100. Minus the
Ready Link and the video capabilities and the better camera. Does the newer
Vm4500 hold any technological advantage over the 8100 as far as using vision
as well.. I guess I have that newer is better attitude. Costo has the 8100
at a real low cost, but I keep thinking that I'll gain something call
quality and vision quality going with newer.. My main thing is the phone and
the other stuff is just fluff to me..Any help is appreciated.. Thanks..

    Michael in Cincinnati.

Ps. Just picked up 1000 a/t and unlimited n/w starting at 8pm for $50.

The VM4500 in order to do RL, ends up making it an excellent old
fashioned Speaker Phone. One of the complaints about the 8100 is the
    very small single hole for the earpiece which causes some users problems;
and the 8100 has no speaker phone capability.

Of course one can use a $5 or $10 third party external ear pice for
    hands free talking.

Both the 8100 and the VM4500 are relative good for receiving a signal.

Usually $99.99; The 8100 is a relatively low cost camera phone with good
reception. Downside is small earpiece hole that makes it hard to hear
for some users, and lack of a speaker phone.

If cost is no factor, certainly the VM4500 is a better phone. If cost is
a major factor the VI660 is only $29.99, but it has no camera. If you
dont need the camera, the best phone is the RL2500.
