I've had my new VM4500 phone with a Vision-premium plan for almost a week
now. It's kinda cool to have the color screen and screensavers and all, but
the Web access is awfully slow. My old phone - a Sanyo 6000 - on the old
(G2?) network, was about 2-3 times faster with web browsing. I'm talking
about run-of-the mill websites like CNN and USA Today. I realize that I am
now getting color and graphics not available on my old phone, but I don't
think I'm alone in that my main use of Vision is to read text. I can accept
some reduction in speed, but a 2-3 times difference?

Is there someway to force web-browsing on Vision into a monochrome,
    non-graphic mode?

    Thanks.

That would be nice. Vision is also unacceptably slow on a RL2500, so
much so I cancelled my Vision; although being charged for it during my
"FREE TRIAL" period was also unacceptable.

If the RL2500 is actually a Ready Link variant of the 4900, then it
may have the same web browser as the original 4900, which was VERY
slow...so slow I gave up using it for any internet access. My 8100
    is much faster.

Too bad SPCS didn't cancel the rest of the account at the same time ...

Somewhere around Sat, 03 Apr 2004 09:47:14 GMT, Robert M. was brave

My RL2500 is faster than the A500 and the N400 . Both of those were
Vision phones. Now Vision is slower than the old Wireless Web , which
I used the 5150 and the N200 for. There is more content with Vision
    than the Wireless Web.
