Hi Guys:
(I'm reposting this, I didn't get an answer)
A while back I posted a message about Int'l SMS. At that time the answer
I got was: No, only 10digit SMS # are supported.
I read recently in sprintusers.com (or howardforums, I can't remember)
that Sprint was starting to support sending/receiving SMS to destinations
like 01144XXXXXXX. In this forum some posted a list of networks supported.
However, I tried from a treo600 to send one SMS to one of these "supported"
networks and no luck. Is this correct? Is there a list of international
networks supported? Any particular type of phones that support this feature?
If not, is this something that Sprint plans to support soon?
BTW, I was looking for the list of Sprint phones that support SMS but I
can't find it, could anyone post it again?
Thanks in advance,
Marco

It shouldn't have affected it yet, but BellSouth just sold its
SouthAmerican properties to a Spanish outfit, to help raise money for
Cingular to buy AT&T Wireless.

It is, so far, still considered an unsupported function. In fact,=20
the SMS system can accept up to (I think) 16 digits now, and so is=20
theoretically capable of international SMS. The networks you site=20
are only networks to which a successful test SMS has been confirmed=20
delivered. I don't know if that means reliability has been (or even=20
will be) tested.

Re: 10 digit SMS? No international SMS? (REPOST)
Any idea of when Sprint PCS SMS will go international? 1yr? 10yr? (in other
words, is it planned or it is not something that has been discussed?
I just got a cingular sim and I am sending my messages from there (20 bucks
prepaid that lasts 3 months and SMS is 5c/min outgoing and free incoming).
Definitely very cheap. Too bad their coverage here in San Francisco is the
worse!
