Any ideas? I used it last fall very successfully, and hadn't had
occasion to again until about a month ago when I noticed that my phone
behaves very differently now when I dial #777. Back when it worked,
if I picked up my phone and dialed #777, the Vision browser
launched...which meant that when I hooked it up to my laptop and
dialed, I got to use the phone as a modem. Now, when I dial #777 on
my handset, it rings and I get an error message "the number or code
you have dialed...". Did Sprint finally shut this off? If not, what
other problem(s) could I be having?

Your responses directly to my e-mail ([email protected]) are
    welcome.

    Thanks!

    Adam.

I never heard of anyone dialing #777 from the handset KEYPAD to
make an internet connection. However dialing with a laptop
connectoid from the handset serial or USB port is ENTIRELY different.

If you simply create a new internet connection on your laptop and
user your Sprint Vision user name and password, and #777 as the
number to dial, you'll get connected.

Sprint did not shut this off. Try setting up a dial up connection as
follows. I presume you have already installed the driver for you phone and
it is being recognized by your computer as a modem and that, of course, you
are currently subscribed to Vision. When I have trouble I also take my
battery out of the phone and reboot my computer and start over. I also run
a ping such as ping -l 1 -t yahoo.com in the background to keep from
getting disconnect. Good luck and let us know if you get it to work.
