I have successfully been able to sync the phonebook on my Samsung SCH-8500
and a postgres database contaning the entries... but the one task I cannot
seem to achieve is clearing out an entry on the phone that I no longer use.

There are 229 phonebook "slots" on the phone.
For example, if I want to "move" an entry from slot 10 to slot 11, I cannot
seem to clear out slot 10. I tried to set empty strings and zeroes, but
slot 10 will not be scrubbed from the phone until I restart the phone.

I know there is a way to do it, because there was a Windows version of this
utility that performed the task without restarting the phone.
