I'm looking to replace my ancient cell phone with a PDA/phone. I don't
want to carry two devices any longer. And I definitely want Palm as I
synch that with Linux. However, I'm worried about battery life. Do any of
the Palm-based phones have decent battery life? I don't even care about
features. I don't want to browse the web or anything. Just phone and PDA.

Try the Samsung i500. No camera like the Treo or extra storage card but it
is more reliable than my two Treo 600's and has longer battery life (two
batteries are provided )

What is your expectation for decent? I have a Treo 600 and I consider it
decent for my needs. I put on charger every night with about 60-80% battery
left depending on usage.
It won't go one week w/out a charge, but you can go 1-3 days depending on
your usage.
The Samsung i500 probably gives you even more usage between charges.

Re: Which Palm-based phone has the longest battery life?
If not in a rush, wait for the Treo 650(?) to come out and compare it to
your other options. It's not long now. Among other options I've heard it
will have an interchangeable battery. My Treo 600 is good enough for me but
there were times when it was getting pretty drained. Not being able to swap
batteries I would have been inconvenienced if it went dead.
